Norfolk Admirals News Release

Adam Munro stopped all 30 Hershey shots as the Admirals shut out the Bears 1-0 in a goaltending battle at Giant Center.

Both the Admirals and Bears were 0-1 with the man advantage, and goalies Adam Munro and Frederic Cassivi made big stops in the first twenty minutes. Norfolk fired 10 pucks on net as opposed to the Hershey's six, but neither team found the back of the net in the initial period.

The Admirals opened scoring midway through the second stanza. Dustin Byfuglien fished the puck out from behind the net and passed it through the crease to Quintin Laing on the glove side of Cassivi. Laing, whose feet were near goal line to the left of the Hershey backstop, one-timed the pass over Cassivi's glove to give the visitors a 1-0 lead at 11:23. The tough-angle goal was Laing's third of the season, with Byfuglien and Mike Brown adding assists on the tally. Adam Munro stood solid in goal during the second, turning aside all eleven shots that Hershey fired his way. Norfolk had nine shots on Cassivi and took a 1-0 lead into the second intermission.

The Bears were in their offensive zone more often than not in the final frame as they out-shot Norfolk 13-3 in the period. Munro made several big stops in the third, including a shoulder save on Chris Bourque as time expired, and the Admirals defeated the Bears 1-0.

Adam Munro got the shutout victory for the Admirals and stopped all 30 Hershey shots. Frederic Cassivi picked up the loss for the Bears despite allowing only one goal on 22 Norfolk shots.

Norfolk was 0-5 on the power play while Hershey was 0-7.
