Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars (41-28-4-6, 92 points) were defeated by the Oklahoma City Barons (40-28-2-9, 91 points) 2-0 on Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd of 6,863 fans at Cedar Park Center. Oklahoma City goalie Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers (17-13-4) made 22 saves in the win, as the Barons clinched a playoff spot. Forwards Colin McDonald and Milan Kyntar each tallied a goal for the Barons on the night. Texas goalie Richard Bachman (28-19-5) stopped 30 shots, as the Stars end their regular season with 22-12-3-3 mark at home. Texas travels to San Antonio to face the Rampage for the final regular season game on Sunday at 4:30 PM.
After a scoreless first period, Oklahoma City opened the second period with a goal by center Milan Kyntar at 6:47. Center Tanner House and defenseman Alex Plante each provided an assist for the 1-0 tally. Forward Colin McDonald expanded Oklahoma City's lead with just 18 seconds remaining in the frame. Forwards Brad Moran and Mark Arcobello helped set up McDonald's 41st goal of the season and secure a 2-0 victory.
The Stars travel to San Antonio for their final regular season game against the Rampage on Sunday, April 10 at 4:30 PM. The Stars will host a Watch Party for the final game of the year on Sunday at the Hooters Round Rock location starting at 3:30 pm.
