Barnstormers Win It In Extras Over The Patriots

Bridgewater, NJ- A solo homerun by Aaron Herr (7) in the top of the eleventh inning lifted the Lancaster Barnstormers over the Somerset Patriots 3-2 before 5,054 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday afternoon.

The Barnstormers scored first in the top of the second inning on a solo homerun by Matt Watson (8).

Lancaster added a run in the third after Angel Flores singled and scored when Iggy Suarez hit into a double play to make the score 2-0.

A solo homerun by Justin Huber (6) in the fourth cut the Lancaster lead to 2-1.

The Patriots tied the game the following inning after Elliott Ayala reached on a dropped third strike and scored on a sacrifice fly by Matt Hagen.

Lancaster reliever Jon Huber (1-0) got the win after striking out two in an inning pitched. Somerset reliever Jason Anderson (2-2) suffered the loss, after allowing a run in two innings pitched. Jonah Bayliss picked up his seventh save of the season. Kevin Reese tossed 4.2 scoreless innings of relief for the Patriots to help keep the score tied at two.

The 2011 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Wednesday Night as the Patriots take on the Lancaster Barnstormers.
