Bridgeport Bluefish News Release

(Bridgeport, Conn. - July 19, 2011) - The Bridgeport Bluefish (2-3, 34-34) came back from a four-run deficit to take down the Camden Riversharks (3-2, 26-42) by a score of 7-6 at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Tuesday night.

Camden had a 6-2 lead before the Bluefish took the lead by scoring five runs in the fifth inning. Andres Perez led off with a double and moved to third on a Luis Rodriguez single. The designated hitter scored on a throwing error which allowed Rodriguez to move to second. Angel Chavez singled to put runners at the corners. Adam Greenberg followed Chavez by walking to load the bases. Angel Berroa smacked a two-run single to leftcenter and cut the deficit to one. With runners at first and second, a ground out to second pushed the runners up a base. Wes Bankston drove in the final runs of the night with a two-run single to right.

Luis Lopez is getting closer to history. He is now 14 hits shy of 2,000 for his minor league career after his first inning single. Lopez' teammate, Berroa, also had a solo shot for the winning team.

Camden scored all of the runs on homers. Jonel Pacheco hit a shot to leftcenter in the second, Danny Richar sent a two-run blast to right in the fourth, and Noah Hall contributed a three-run jolt to left in the fifth.

Raymar Diaz (2-0) picked up the victory despite allowing six runs in five-and-two-thirds innings of work. The bullpen tossed three-and-one-third frames of scoreless ball with Juan Rincon earning his 11th save.

J.R. Mathes (1-4) suffered the loss for the road team. The Camden starter surrendered seven runs in four innings of work. Three relievers combined for four shutout innings, but the Riversharks could not come back.
