WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes and the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group are proud to present the second annual "Bark in the Park" night at Shaw Park on Tuesday, July 19th when the Goldeyes take on the St. Paul Saints at 7:05 p.m.
Tickets for "Bark in the Park" are on sale now, and cost just $14. Each ticket includes admission for one person and one dog, plus a complimentary "treat bag" (while supplies last). During the event, dogs and dog owners can enjoy various dog-themed entertainment, giveaways, and pet-related vendors with plenty of treats for furry fans.
"The Goldeyes are thrilled to bring back Bark in the Park this summer," said Winnipeg Goldeyes' President and CEO Sam Katz . "We love being able to include our fans' furry family members in all the fun at a Goldeyes game while also helping to support such a worthy cause as the Winnipeg Humane Society."
"Bark in the Park" is presented by the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group, a team of Veterinary professionals dedicated to exemplary medicine, client care, and patient service. The Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group offers a wide range of services at four associated Veterinary Hospitals, and is committed to caring for every patient as if they were their own pet and family member.
"The Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group and our member hospitals, Southglen, Fort Garry, and Stonewall Veterinary Hospitals and Best Friends Animal Hospital are delighted to partner in Bark in the Park 2016," said Andrea Render , Hospital Administrator at Southglen Veterinary Hospital. "Bark in the Park fits perfectly with our philosophy that pets are family. Excellence in veterinary medicine is our commitment to our patients and our community. Our teams of Veterinary professionals are proud to support an event that brings pets and people together while supporting the good work of the Winnipeg Humane Society. Thank-you Winnipeg Goldeyes!"
A portion of the "Bark in the Park" ticket proceeds will be donated to the Winnipeg Humane Society, a charitable partner of the Winnipeg Pet Show.
"Bark in the Park is an outstanding initiative that allows families in Winnipeg the chance to enjoy summer with their best friend," says Winnipeg Humane Society CEO Javier Schwersensky. "We live in a community that values responsible pet ownership. All of the funds raised from Bark in the Park will directly help The WHS give proper medical care, shelter, and behaviour training to over 8,500 animals this year."
The Winnipeg Pet Show is the city's largest pet consumer show, and takes place October 15th and 16th at the RBC Convention Centre. The Winnipeg Pet Show features pet-related products and services geared toward every pet imaginable, educational seminars and demonstrations, and family-friendly entertainment, including dog agility performances, and even a pet fashion show.
"We're excited to once again partner with the Goldeyes for Bark in the Park," said Sherri Rheubottom , Show Manager for Showtime Productions Inc. and the Winnipeg Pet Show. "Last year's Bark in the Park event turned out amazing, people really loved being able to bring their dog to the Goldeyes game with them, and many of the dogs were even dressed in their favourite Goldeyes outfit. It was adorable and everyone had a great time."
"Bark in the Park" will showcase some of the same pet vendors that will be in attendance at the Winnipeg Pet Show in October, so fans can even do a little shopping during the Goldeyes' game on July 19th. Fun features at the game include Pawparazzi Photos, the Pooch Smooch Cam, and 7th Inning Fetch.
Fans and their four-legged friends will enter Shaw Park through a special gate reserved just for them. There will even be a designated "Puppy Potty" turf area located by the registration tent.
Additional human tickets for "Bark in the Park" are just $10 each, and can be purchased at www.goldeyes.com or at the Shaw Park box office.
NOTE: Those attending "Bark in the Park" with their dog must download and print a "Bark in the Park" Waiver and Guidelines from www.goldeyes.com, and present it at the dog registration table. Dogs are only permitted in the designated "Bark in the Park" areas. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. on July 19th, while the Shaw Park gates open at 6:00 p.m.
The Goldeyes continue their three-game series tonight against the Texas AirHogs at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for all Goldeyes' home games are on sale now by calling 1-855-GOLDEYE, visiting www.ticketmaster.ca, or visiting any Ticketmaster location, including the box office at Shaw Park.
