LINK DOMINATES KC AGAIN

Right-hander Jon Link dominated the Kansas City T-Bones for the second straight start Tuesday, as he led the Wingnuts to a 5-1 win at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. After shutting Kansas City out over seven innings six days ago, Link came back with another seven-inning outing, giving up just one run on five hits while tying his season-high with seven strikeouts. Wichita's offense got him the lead three batters into their half of the first. After a walk and a double put runners on second and third, Brent Clevlen picked up an RBI with a groundout, giving him 20 to tie him for the team lead. The Wingnuts doubled their advantage in the fourth, when Richard Prigatano and Harrison Kain hit back-to-back doubles. After a Vladimir Frias homer in the fifth got Kansas City their only run of the night, Wichita pushed across three more in the sixth. Leo Vargas doubled into the left field corner scoring a pair, and extending his hit streak to 11 in a row, the longest current streak for the Wingnuts. Zack Cox then capped the frame with a run-scoring single, one of his four hits on the night, which tied his career-high.
