Ottawa 67's News Release

In their final home game before another road trip, the Ottawa 67's fell by a final score of 3-0 to the Mississauga Steelheads. Will Cranley turned aside 32 of 35 shots, but the Barber Poles just couldn't find the run support they needed to overcome Mississauga, shorthanded with both Jack Beck and Anthony Costantini out of the lineup.

After a scoreless first period, the Trout opened the scoring in the second frame, with a goal from James Hardie just 1:21 in. Luca Del Bel Belluz added his sixth of the year just over six minutes later, and the Barber Poles found themselves down 2-0 heading into the third.

Despite beginning to catch up in the shots on goal totals, the 67's couldn't draw back into the game, with Owen Beck putting it out of reach with a little over 12 minutes to play.

Game Notes:

Teddy Sawyer suited up for his 50th career OHL game.

This is the first time that the 67's have been shut out since February 23, 2020.

This is the first time this season that the Barber Poles have lost consecutive games.

Dylan Robinson and Jack Matier led the way with three shots apiece.

Up Next: It's a quick turnaround for the 67's, who face the Bulldogs in Hamilton tomorrow at 4:00pm EST.
