Rangers Doubled up by Attack 4-2

November 12, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Kitchener Rangers News Release

The Rangers welcomed Owen Sound to The Aud on for the first time on Friday night, hoping to bounce back from last weekend's loss against them.

Early on in the first period, the Rangers found themselves shorthanded. After a strong penalty kill, they found themselves with the momentum. At the halfway point, Declan McDonnell scored his sixth of the season on the powerplay, giving the Rangers the 1-0 lead. Both teams had chances through the rest of the period, but the score remained 1-0 Rangers.

During the second period, the physical play picked up, having each team get opportunities on the powerplay, but neither capitalized. With less than two minutes remaining, Mike Petizian snapped home his eighth goal of the season. The Rangers took the 2-0 lead into the second intermission.

Owen Sound started the third period firing on all cylinders, scoring two goals in two minutes to tie the game 2-2. The physical play continued to pick up as there were many post-whistle scrums. Ethan Burroughs then put one past Pavel Cajan to extend their lead to 3-1. They would then add one more goal, making it 4-2.

Owen Sound edged Kitchener 4-2 in a very physical game, handing them their fourth straight loss.

Our next game is Saturday, Nov 13th, in Flint at 7:00 p.m.

Our next home game is Friday, Nov 19th, against Saginaw at 7:30 p.m.
