Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - David Kudelka scored twice and Kevin St. Jacques had a goal and an assist as the Bakersfield Condors ran their record to 9-0-1 with a 5-4 defeat of the Las Vegas Wranglers (4-4-1) on Thursday night in front of 4,174 fans at Centennial Garden.
The Condors and Wranglers exchanged tallies in rapid succession starting in the opening period. Brad Mehalko's goal just 2:11 into the game made it 1-0 and gave the top power play unit in the league a goal in eight straight games. Just 1:19 later Vegas answered with Dana Lattery's team-leading sixth of the year. Chris Stanley scored on a redirected shot at 12:52 to make it 2-1. Condors starter Randy Petruk left the game after that goal with a leg injury, sustained when he was crashed into just moments prior. He did not return. The Condors head out on the road for a 7:00 p.m. meeting with the Ice Dogs in Long Beach on Saturday night. They return home after Thanksgiving to host the Victoria Salmon Kings on Saturday, November 27th for Teddy Bear Toss Night at 7:00 p.m. All fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear to the game and when the Condors score their first goal of the night, throw the stuffed animals on the ice. The bears will be collected by the United Way of Kern County and donated to children in need during the holiday season.
Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden box office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday, by calling Ticketmaster at 322- 2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season and group tickets may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.
