ESTERO, FL â Sebastien Laplante made 28 saves for his second consecutive shutout as the Pee Dee Pride (7-4-1) blanked the Florida Everblades (5-7-0) 2-0 on Friday night in front of 6,978 fans at Germain Arena. After a scoreless first period, Pee Dee drew first blood 8:46 into the second period. Chad Spurr won a faceoff inside the Florida end. Jake Wiegand gathered in the puck behind the net, and centered a perfect feed in front to Allan Sirois who beat goaltender Rob Zepp for his fourth goal of the season. The Pride added to their lead at the 14:50 mark. Spurr and Kevin Cooper executed a perfect give-and-go in the neutral zone and skated into the Everblades' end on a 2-on-1 rush. Spurr found Cooper skating free down the left-wing side, and Cooper one-timed a shot top shelf for his second goal of the season. Pee Dee and Florida meet again at Germain Arena on Saturday. Face off is slated for 7:30 p.m., with all of the action on WDAR Sunny 105.5, starting with the Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show at 7:10. The Pride return home on Friday, November 26, hosting the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:30 p.m. The Pride and Marine Corps League are teaming up for Toys for Tots Nights. Marines will be on the concourse prior to the game to collect toys for the annual Toys for Tots drive.
