Baker's blast ends marathon

West Sacramento, Calif. - John Baker's 2-run home run in the bottom of the 13th inning broke a 5-5 tie and handed the River Cats a 7-5 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies on Saturday night at Raley Field. The one-out blast by Baker was the catcher's 5th of the season and gave the Cats their 5th consecutive extra-inning victory. Fresno led the game, 5-2, entering the bottom of the 8th, when Sacramento scored 3 runs to tie the game and send it to extra-frames. The final three pitchers of the night for Sacramento (Mario Ramos, Britt Reames and Ron Flores) combined for 6 scoreless innings and nine strikeouts as Flores earned his 4th win of the season. The Cats and Grizz square off again on Sunday, as RHP Ryan Glynn (2-1, 2.76) faces off against RHP Matt Kinney (5-7, 5.63).
