Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release

The Binghamton Mets batted around in two different innings, on their way to a 10-1 win over the Erie SeaWolves at NYSEG Stadium Tuesday. The win is Binghamton's fourth in their last five games.

The B-Mets (38-31) didn't trail after a two-run third. Emmanuel Garcia began the rally with a one-out single off Luke French, advancing to third on Jonathan Malo's double. Nick Evans followed with a base hit, scoring Garcia and Malo.

Binghamton got to French (4-7) again in the fourth. Ambiorix Concepcion led off with a double before Salomon Manriquez singled and Jose Coronado was intentionally walked, loading the bases. Garcia hit into a fielder's choice that brought in Concepcion before Malo doubled, plating Coronado and Garcia. Evans then lined a single to center, bringing in Malo, to put the B-Mets up 6-0.

There was more Binghamton scoring in the seventh. After Coronado reached on a fielder's choice and Garcia doubled, Malo drove both in with a single. Malo later scored on Mike Carp's base hit to right before Carp came in on Concepcion's second double of the game.

Erie (30-40) was unable to solve Jonathon Niese (5-4). The lefty scattered three hits over six shutout innings, fanning nine. Jose Sanchez followed with two shutout innings. Eddie Kunz allowed an unearned run in the ninth, on Deik Scram's RBI single.

Wednesday, the Binghamton Mets will play the second game of a three-game series against the Erie SeaWolves. Salvador Aguilar (7-1, 2.86) will start for Binghamton against Josh Rainwater (5-2, 5.10) of Erie. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. from NYSEG Stadium, with the radio broadcast beginning at 6:50 on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.
