July 4, 2013 - Frontier League (FL)
Rockford Aviators News Release
LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, capped a 9-game home stand with its most impressive win of the series, an 11-3 throttling of the Evansville Otters. Rockford (12-29) collected 16 hits and played flawless defensive baseball, as Drew Rucinski earned his third win of the season.
Rusinski allowed just one earned run on six hits (only one multi-hit inning) through seven strong frames. Nick Grim and Matt Frahm closed the game in the eighth and ninth innings, respectively.
Prior to Thursday's matinee show, only two Aviators had accumulated four hits in a game this season. Brandon Newton and Matt Greener doubled that total after they each tallied four hits on the afternoon. Jeff Kremer scored three runs for Rockford and reached base safely in four of his five plate appearances. Greener led the way with four RBIs on the afternoon.
