Autocross Event Before RiverHawks Game June 9

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Sports Car Club of Rockford will be holding a low-speed autocross event at RiverHawks Stadium before the RiverHawks' game on Saturday, June 9.

Autocross is a form of racing that emphasizes safe, low cost competition and active participation. Autocross consists of a timed course where drivers compete one at a time through traffic cones. This event places emphasis on car handling and driver skill rather than on sheer horsepower.

Many different classes of competition are offered, allowing for most any vehicle, from economy sedans to purpose-built vehicles, to compete.

The cost to participate is $40 and spectators are admitted free.

The RiverHawks will play Southern Illinois at 6:05 p.m., the first 1000 fans through the gates get a free logo baseball from Illinois Railway Museum.
