Austin Spurs Fight Truancy with ScoutsviewSports.com and LT Preparatory Academy

December 6, 2014 - NBA G League (G League)
Austin Spurs News Release

Austin, Texas (Dec 4, 2014) - The Austin Spurs presented by SWBC will be hosting an event with ScoutsviewSports.com and Former NFL running back, current NFL network T.V. analyst and future Hall-of-Famer "LT" at the Cedar Park Center on Saturday night, December 4th, to increase truancy awareness.

LT Preparatory Academy, which gives parents and student athletes comprehensive instruction on both educational requirements and the recruiting process, and ScoutsviewSports.com, a social site dedicated to helping Student-Athletes get scouted and source scholarships, recently announced a deal valued at over $1.7 million dollars.

"Our partnership with "L.T." will enable us to help more parents of Student-Athletes find athletic scholarships by increasing their child's exposure to coaches and scouts in all divisions and in all 88 sports in the NCAA," says CEO Michael Richardson. "But NO Student-Athlete makes it to the college level if they don't stay in school and attend class. That's why this Truancy Initiative is so important. We couldn't do it without partners like the Austin Spurs and The LaDainian Tomlinson Preparatory Academy."

The Austin Spurs will face Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate OKC Blue on Saturday, Dec. 6 when the team hosts Scout Night presented by ScoutsviewSports.com. Scouts who have purchased a ticket can attend the pre-game Austin Spurs basketball clinic and watch prospects in action. Former NFL Running Back LaDainian Tomlinson will speak to the youth at 6 p.m. followed by an autographed Austin Spurs game jersey. Tomlinson earned the NFL MVP Award in 2006, and is a five-time NFL Pro Bowl selection and led the league in rushing yards in 2006 and 2007.
