SECOND STRAIGHT WIN - The Sea Dogs were triumphant last night in a 5-1 win over the Somerset Patriots. With two-outs in the top of the first inning, Triston Casas ripped a single into centerfield and swiped second base. After working a 10-pitch at-bat, Devlin Granberg hit a bouncing ball down the third base line. Third baseman Chad Bell committed a fielding error, allowing Casas to score and Portland led, 1-0. Roldani Baldwin blasted a home run in the second inning, extending Portland's lead, 2-0. In the top of the fourth inning, Jeisson Rosario lined a two-out single to left field then stole his tenth base of the year and came home to score on an RBI single by Tanner Nishioka and the Sea Dogs led, 3-0. Dermis Garcia crushed his 23rd homer of the year in the bottom of the fourth inning, putting the Patriots on the board, 3-1. In the eighth inning, Pedro Castellanos reached base on a dropped third strike at the plate. He scored from first on an RBI double to deep left centerfield by Hudson Potts and the Sea Dogs were able to hold on to the 4-1 victory.

BRONZE MEDALIST BALDWIN BASHES IN BACK-TO-BACK GAMES - Ever since returning from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as a bronze medalist, Roldani Baldwin has hit home runs in back-to-back games. Baldwin now has three home runs this season, including the two this week with four RBI.

TOP DOGS - With the victory last night over the Patriots, the Sea Dogs have regained the top spot in the Northeast Division. Somerset is now 0.5 game behind Portland. When it comes to the Northeast League, the Sea Dogs are in sole possession of second place and are 2.0 games behind the first place Akron RubberDucks. Akron is currently on a three-game winning streak.

STRONG STARTING PITCHING - A multitude of Sea Dogs starting pitchers have some of the best numbers among the Double-A Northeast League. Josh Winckowski has the fourth-best ERA (4.39) in the league, the most starts (17) and has tossed the third-most innings (82.0). Andrew Politi has held opposing batters to a .262 batting average, sixth in the league.

ACTIVE STREAKS - Rio Gomez has not allowed a run (earned or unearned) since July 8th. Since that time, he has appeared in ten games pitching 13.2 shutout innings allowing seven hits while walking one and striking out 13. He has limited opposing batters to a .184 average during this stretch.

ON THE MOUND - RHP Brayan will be on the mound for the Sea Dogs tonight. He last pitched 8/8 at Binghamton and tossed 5.1 innings allowing four runs on five hits while walking three and striking out a season-high 11 batters. Bello has received back-to-back losing decisions. He has faced the Patriots once and tossed 1.2 innings allowing two runs on two hits while walking a season-high four batters and striking out two on June 24th at Hadlock Field.
