Toledo Walleye News Release
(Toledo, OH) - Forward Louis-Marc Aubry and Defenseman Nick Jensen have been reassigned by the NHL's Detroit Red Wings to the Toledo Walleye from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Toledo has also traded defenseman Jason Lepine to San Francisco of the ECHL for future considerations.
The 22 year old Aubry has appeared in one game this year with the Griffins with no points. Since drafted by Detroit in the third Round of the 2010 NHL Draft, he has appeared in 127 professional games with the Griffins, collecting nine goals, 19 assists and 104 penalty minutes. The 6'4", 213 pound forward was a member of the 2013 Calder Cup Championship team, appearing in 14 playoff games. Jensen joins the Walleye following his college career with St. Cloud State where he played with current Walleye forward Travis Novak. The 23-year-old defenseman from Roger, MN, appeared in 119 games over three seasons with the Huskies, posting 15 goals, 71 assists and 36 penalty minutes. The 6'1", 195 pound defenseman was drafted by Detroit in the fifth round of the 2009 NHL draft. Due to an injury in training camp, Jensen has yet to appear in a game this season.
