
Gladiators Make Several Moves on a Busy Thursday

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gwinnett Gladiators announced several roster moves on Thursday, as forward Elgin Pearce was claimed off of waivers from the Greenville Road Warriors, and goaltender Louis Domingue was reassigned from the Portland Pirates to Gwinnett by the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. In addition, the Coyotes reassigned goaltender Chris Rawlings to the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League, and forward C.J. Lee was released.
Pearce, 21, played the first nine games of his rookie 2013-14 season with the Road Warriors, picking up two goals and two assists. The forward from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia spent the previous four years in the Western Hockey League with the Kootenay Ice and the Medicine Hat Tigers. Last season was Pearce's breakout year as he posted career highs with 29 goals and 45 assists with the Tigers.
Domingue, 21, returns to Gwinnett after playing in three games in the American Hockey League with Portland, compiling a 1-0 record, with a 2.40 goals against average and a .934 save percentage. The Mont-St-Hilaire, Quebec native began the season with the Gladiators, playing in three of the team's first four games before being called up to Portland. Domingue currently has an 0-2 record, a 3.01 GAA, and a .887 save percentage at the ECHL level this season.
Rawlings started six of the Gladiators 15 gamesthis season. The former Northeastern Husky currently holds a 1-5 record in the 2013-14 ECHL season, along with a 3.68 GAA and a .879 save percentage.
Lee had two assists in his first nine professional games while with Gwinnett. The 24-year-old Staten Island native spent his previous four seasons with the Engineers of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he served as team captain in 2012-13.
The Gladiators aremembers of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league and are affiliated with the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
