Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Attack have two very big tests ahead of them this weekend when they host Russian dynamo Nail Yakupov and the 12-2-1-3 Sarnia Sting on Friday night followed by a tilt Saturday evening against familiar foes, the Mississauga ST. Michael's Majors. Sun Life Financial will present all of the action on Friday evening at the Bayshore, including a pre-game Remembrance Day ceremony which will feature members of our local LFCA TC Meaford. Saturday evening is Bell employee appreciation night against our familiar foes, the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. This is the Majors first regular season visit to the Bayshore since the two teams met in last year's Ontario Hockey League finals. The two teams met once before this season, with the Majors taking a 5-3 decision.

Sun Life Financial Presents: Sarnia Sting at Owen Sound Attack 7:30pm
Serious Sting - This isn't the Sarnia Sting you've seen the past couple of seasons. The Sting is out of the gate with a 12-2-1-3 record and sit second in the Western Conference with 4.05 goals per game average. Much of the offensive success is due to Russian sniper Nail Yakupov. The unquestionable projection to be the number one pick overall in the 2012 NHL Entry draft is absolutely burning up the scoring charts, averaging almost two points per game with 12 goals, 23 assists for 35 points in 18 games..and all of this has been done without 2010 1st overall pick Alex Galchenyuk who at the beginning of the season was projected to be a top 5 pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Galchenyuk has been out since the beginning of the season with an injury. In goal, the Sting have been solid, backed by Brandon Maxwell and his 2.22 GAA and .925 save percentage. His 10 wins is second in the OHL only to London Knight's goaltender Michael Houser.
Last 10 Games - 6-1-1-2 (First in the West Division)
Look Out For - Nail Yakupov..would be far too easy to pick out in a crowd. Overage forward Brett Thompson has been a fine addition since coming over to the Sting from the Erie Otters earlier this month. Thompson has a goal and three assists in two games since joining the Sting and will provide the offense to go along with Yakupov as the Sault Ste, Marie native has had back to back 40 goals OHL Seasons the past two years. With Galchenyuk out of the lineup, Thompson is looked at to provide the scoring alongside Yakupov and Co.

Bell Employee Appreciation Night: Mississauga St. Michael's Majors at Owen Sound Attack 7:30pm
Not "Miss"ing a Beat - Simply put, the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors were not expected to be THIS good, but long time Associate Coach James Boyd took over for the departed Dave Cameron and the Majors have not missed a beat, skating to a 10-5-1-2 record and that is without Devante Smith-Pelly, who stuck with the Anaheim Ducks as a 2nd Round Draft Pick. The Majors are lead on the front end by Riley Brace who has 10 goals and 24 points on the season. The back end is anchored by 2011 Toronto Maple Leafs 1st Round Draft Choice Stuart Percy who has 9 points in 12 games and is second on the team with a +11 rating.
Last 10 Games - 3-4-1-2 (1st in Central Division)
Look Out For - Goaltender JP Anderson can flat out steal games. The 19 year old San Jose Sharks prospect is looking for a strong November in order to enhance his bid for a spot on the Canadian National Jr. Team and will be looking to improve on his 3.00GAA and .914 save percentage. The Toronto native also has 81 career wins entering the weekend, 19 shy of the 100 win milestone mark.
Tickets for both games are available at the Attack Box Office, by calling 519 371-7452 or online at www.attackhockey.com .
