5 Things to Know about #ATLvFCD

Streaks on the Line

FC Dallas is currently on a three-game win streak which is the club's longest winning run since Oscar Pareja's FCD won four straight between May 25 and June 9, 2018. Luchi Gonzalez could hit four wins in a row for the first time as an MLS coach if Dallas takes all three points Wednesday night. On the other hand, Atlanta United is currently on a three-game losing streak; a run which includes two losses to Inter Miami and one to the other 2020 expansion team Nashville SC.

Jara's Run Continues

Forward Franco Jara has now scored in three-straight matches. He registered his first brace for FC Dallas against Sporting KC on Saturday, Sept, 19, making it five goals in his last five games. He's the first FCD player to score in three straight outings since Zdenek "Kobra" Ondrasek did so in August of 2019. Jara's five goals during September is the most by any MLS player.

Nelson's First Assist

Defender Johnny Nelson earned his first MLS assist on Saturday against Sporting Kansas City when he delivered a right-footed cross directly onto Franco Jara's head for Dallas' first goal. Nelson has been earning regular starts at left back as Ryan Hollingshead has deputized in a number of different positions this year. It took the second-year defender just 10 MLS starts to register his first FC Dallas assist.

Against Atlanta

FC Dallas has a 2-1-0 all-time record against Atlanta United who joined MLS in 2017. Dallas has earned one win and one loss when playing at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The last time the teams faced each other, FCD sealed a 2-1 road victory on April 20, 2019 thanks to goals from Bryan Acosta and Jesús Ferreira.

About Atlanta

Atlanta sits in 12th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of (3-7-2, 11 points). The team is currently on a six-game winless run, including three straight losses. After winning its first two matches of 2020, Atlanta has only recorded one victory in 10 games.
