Louisville Bats News Release
Louisville, KY - 50 local children will be starting this school year a little more rested thanks to Ashley HomeStore and the Louisville Bats. They'll be providing these kids with new beds at an event Saturday morning.
"The importance of sleep for children has been proven time and time again," explained Arnie Capitanelli, Chief Sales Officer for Ashley HomeStore. "We believe every kid should have the opportunity to grow up and achieve their dreams - a bed of their very own is one way we're helping to make that happen."
The bed sets - which include a mattress, basic frame, as well as pillow and comforter - are donated as part of their Hope to Dream program. Through a Hope to Dream, every mattress purchased at Ashley HomeStores contributes to providing a mattress for a child who is currently sleeping on the floor, on an unsuitable mattress, sharing a bed, or otherwise in need of a better night's sleep. So far, 300 children have received new beds this year alone.
"Our theme this year is Dreamers Change the World," shared Lauren Hamsley, Community Specialist for Ashley HomeStore. "Sharing this event with an all-star team such as the Louisville Bats is an incredible opportunity for these kids to see that with hard work - and a good sleep - they can grow up to be anything they dream of being!"
This is the fifth event Ashley HomeStore has hosted with the Louisville Bats. Over that time, they have provided new bed sets to 250 children in the area.
The beds will be on display during the Friday night game, which will hopefully see the Louisville Bats take home a win before hosting these 50 children to a private event at the field on Saturday morning. Media are invited to attend this event and see children interacting with players and coaches, volunteers and leaders from Ashley HomeStore, and the local Salvation Army, charitable partners for the event.
