Today's Game

Tonight the Bisons open up a three-game weekend series with the Syracuse Mets in their return to Sahlen Field. The Herd will need to win the series in order to win the season series with the Mets. Next, Buffalo has an off day on Monday before heading to Toledo for three games as apart of a six-game road trip.

Yesterday's Game: BUF 6, LHV 0

Buffalo came out with the win against Lehigh Valley in shut-out fashion. The Bisons' offense was powered by three-run homers by C Michael De La Cruz, in the fourth, and 1B Rowdy Tellez, in the fifth, which accounted for all runs scored in the game. Six IronPig batters picked up hits in the game but none were able to bring any runners in as four Bisons' pitchers combined to allow no runs and to strike out seven.

Syracuse Mets (7-7)

Buffalo and Syracuse are meeting for the fifth, and final, time of the 2019 season. The two teams are evenly split at seven games each heading into this last series. In their previous meeting, the Herd took three-out-of-four games from the Mets (7/4-7/7).

Today's Starter

RHP Conor Fisk was activated off of the Injured List yesterday, and makes the start tonight for the Bisons. The right hander began the season in the bullpen, but will be called upon for his 11th start of the year for the Herd. Buffalo is 5-5 in starts by Fisk, while the Brown Deer, WI native last defeated Syracuse 7/5 in five innings of work, allowing 5 H, 2 R/ER, 0 BB, 6 SO.

Rowdy Tellez

1B Rowdy Tellez continued his hot streak with the Bisons as he belted his sixth home run in just his 17th game with the club. Over that span, Tellez is now hitting .310 with eight XBH's, 15 RBI's, and has walked 12 times to 17 strikeouts.

Michael De La Cruz

C Michael De La Cruz hit his third homer of the season with a three-run bomb to score the first runs of the game in the fourth. De La Cruz has been strong at the plate for the Bisons since the Reese McGuire was called up to Toronto. Since McGuire's departure, De La Cruz is hitting .294 (5-17) with a home run and seven RBI's over the four game span.

Jackson McClelland

RHP Jackson McClelland is the latest call-up from New Hampshire to pitch for the Bisons. In his first appearance with the team last night he tossed 2.1 scoreless innings while allowing four hits and striking out one hitter.

Blue Jays

Toronto (44-67) had a statement victory over their division rival, the Baltimore Orioles, as they tallied 11 runs in the win. Six quality innings by Trent Thornton and five total home runs for the Jays led them to the nine-run win over the O's. Tonight, the teams meet again in Baltimore at 7:05 p.m. EDT.
