Rochester Red Wings News Release

The Red Wings used a five-run eighth inning to blow by the Pawtucket Red Sox, 7-2, Friday night from McCoy Field in Rhode Island.

With the win, Rochester (56-55) has now won four straight games and ALL seven games in Pawtucket this season.

The game was tied 2-2 headed to the eighth inning when the bats woke up. Wilin Rosario delivered the go-ahead hit with a one-out, two-run single to give the Wings a 4-2 lead. After a Tomas Telis RBI hit, Zander Wiel hit his 19th home run of the season - a two-run shot that gave the Red Wings a 7-2 lead.

Randy Dobnak - the reigning IL Pitcher of the Week -- turned in another quality outing for Rochester. After entering in the second inning, Dobank retired the first 12 men he faced. In all, he went six innings allowing just one earned run on three hits to earn his fourth win of the season with the Wings.

Tomas Telis hit a solo homer in the fourth inning to give the Red Wings a 2-0 lead.

Nick Gordon left the game in the sixth inning after being hit in the left leg by a pitch. Jake Hirabayashi, who was just drafted by the Twins in the 39th round of the 2019 draft out of UCLA, made his Triple-A debut in place of Gordon.

Rochester did make three errors, but also turned three double plays behind their pitchers Friday.

The Wings look for a fifth straight win on Saturday night when they send Drew Hutchison to the mound in Pawtucket.
