SCARY HOURS: The Rochester Red Wings were unable to get the bats going on a cool Friday night in Buffalo, logging just two hits in a 7-1 loss to the Bisons...2B CORTLAND LAWSON logged the Red Wings only extra-base hit of the night, a double down the right field line in the sixth...3B TREY LIPSCOMB singled earlier in the contest in the fourth to account for the other knock...RHP JARLIN SUSANA made his highly anticipated Triple-A debut, logging 2.2 innings on the mound...with two games left to play, the Red Wings are still tied with Indianapolis atop the International League second half, 0.5 games ahead of Syracuse...Rochester still holds the tiebreaker with IND with an 11-9 record over their last 20 games (IND 10-10)...looking ahead to game five of the six-game set this afternoon, RHP ZAK KENT will take the ball for the Red Wings against fellow right-hander Grant Rogers.

ZAK ATTACK: RHP ZAK KENT will take the ball for the Red Wings in game five this afternoon, in what will be his sixth start of 2025...he allowed two earned on three hits across 3.0 innings in his previous outing on 9/13 vs. SWB, while striking out four and walking one...Kent has yet to allow a run in a pair of Saturday appearances this season, tossing 3.0 hitless innings with a pair of strikeouts and no walks...across seven games (2 GS) against the Bisons in his professional career, the Virginia native is 2-0 with a 3.72 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 9.2 innings of work... The right-hander's 39 appearances between Rochester and St. Paul sets a career-high, surpassing his 34 outings with Columbus in 2025.

REACH FOR THE SKY: RF LEANDRO PINEDA drew a fifth-inning walk last night to extend his on-base streak to 35 games, dating back to 8/7...it is the longest active streak in the International League and the second-longest overall this season, trailing only Iowa's Kevin Alcántara at 42 games...it also surpasses James Wood's 34-game stretch in 2024 and is now the longest by a Red Wing since Drew Maggi reached in 39-straight in 2019...Pineda has reached base 63 times during the run, collecting 36 hits, 21 walks and six hit-by-pitches across 142 plate appearances...he is batting .316 with a .444 on-base percentage, .614 slugging percentage and 1.058 OPS, adding seven doubles, nine home runs and 22 RBI... Among International League hitters with at least 100 at-bats during that span, Pineda ranks first in OPS, second in OBP, fourth in slugging percentage and walks, tied for fourth in home runs and fifth in batting average.

BRINGING THE HEAT: RHP JARLIN SUSANA made his Triple-A debut Friday night at Buffalo and delivered his first pitch at 102.6 mph for a called strike...the pitch is tied for the third-hardest recorded in the International League this season, behind only two offerings from Scranton/WB RHP Carlos Lagrange at 103.0 and 102.8 mph...Susana reached triple digits 19 times among his 66 pitches, including 10 offerings at 101.0 mph or harder...his 28 four-seam fastballs averaged 100.2 mph and his 11 sinkers averaged 99.3, while he mixed in 27 sliders averaging 85.0...the right-hander struck out three over 2.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits and four walks while throwing 38 strikes.

MVP TREY-TMENT: 3B TREY LIPSCOMB accounted for one of the Red Wings two hits last night, a base hit the other way to right to give him a hit in all four games of this series...he also drove in his International League-leading 93rd RBI of the season via a groundout in the sixth...93 RBI are the most by a Red Wing in a single season since Calvin Pickering drove in 98 in 2001...Lipscomb currently leads the International League circuit in hits with 145, five shy of becoming the first Red Wing with 150 hits since Andrew Stevenson in 2022...he also leads the league with 272 total bases, the most by a Rochester bat since Jim Fuller in 1973 (279).

PAX A PUNCH: RHP PAXTON SCHULTZ turned in 1.1 scoreless innings of relief last night, allowing one hit with three strikeouts against his former club...the Utah native has allowed just two earned over 8.0 innings in September (6 G) for a 2.25 ERA, while striking out 10 to one walk and holding opponents to a .172 BAA...after appearing in 85 games with the Bisons across three seasons from 2023-25, Schultz has logged a 1.59 ERA (1 ER/5.2 IP) in four outings in 2026 against the Red Wings Thruway rival to the west.
