Armor Acquire Guard Darius Johnson-Odom

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Springfield Armor, presented by MGM Springfield, announced Friday that the team has acquired guard Darius Johnson-Odom from the available player pool.

Johnson-Odom joins Springfield after playing four games with the Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) where he averaged 20.5 points, 2.8 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game. The former Marquette Golden Eagle played 12 games in the NBA Development League during the 2012-13 season as a member of the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Johnson-Odom averaged 20.6 points and 39.8 minutes per game after being re-assigned to the D-Fenders from the Los Angeles Lakers following four games in the NBA with Los Angeles.

The 6-2 guard averaged 15.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists over 105 games with Marquette, earning first team All-Big East honors as well as an Honorable Mention All-American by the Associated Press. Following his collegiate career, Johnson-Odom was selected 55th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft before being traded on draft night from the Dallas Mavericks to the Lakers. After being waived by Los Angeles in January of 2013, he played professionally with Russia's BC Spartak St. Petersburg in the Premiere Basketball League (PBL) and the VTB United League. Johnson-Odom participated in the 2013 NBA Summer League games in Orlando as a member of the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets.

Johnson-Odom will wear #19.

In a corresponding move, the Armor announced that guard Justin Johnson has been deactivated prior to tonight's game.
