Beloit Sky Carp News Release

BELOIT, WI - For the fifth straight game the Beloit Snappers (13-16) hit a home run, but this time fell 5-3 to the Lansing Lugnuts (22-13) Friday night at Pohlman Field before 313 fans.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Lazaro Armenteros hit a solo home run to left field to try to once again kick start a late rally for the Snappers as they trailed 5-3 at the time. For Armenteros, it is his second home run of the homestand.

Unfortunatley the homer did not kick start a rally as base hits by Austin Beck and Jack Meggs were erased by to lineouts and Skyler Weber striking out to end the frame.

The Snappers scored runs in the fourth and fifth innings as well as Armenteros scored on a base hit by Logan Farrar to put the Snappers on the board as they trailed 4-1 at the time. For Farrar, the base hit extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

The Snappers then scored again in the fifth, as Skyler Weber singled and the advanced to second on a passed ball.and then later scored on a RBI groundout by Nick Allen to make the score 4-2 at the time.

The series continues with the finale of the three-game set with the Lansing Lugnuts Saturday evening with first pitch now scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Right-hander Wyatt Marks (3-1, 3.10) will start for the Snappers, and the Lugnuts will send left-hander Zach Logue.
