Geneva, Illinois - The Kane Conunty Cougars walked off to beat the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 6-5, in 12 innings on Friday night at Northwestern Medicine Field

The TinCaps (14-21) sent nine batters to the plate against Cougar starter Mack Lemieux in the top of the second inning. The frame started with a single by Luis Campusano. Justin Lopez followed with a walk to put runners at first and second. Gabriel Arias loaded the bases with a bunt single. The next batter, Jack Suwinski, grounded a ball to first that Cougar (16-16) first baseman Yoel Yanqui fired home, but threw the ball high, allowing the TinCaps to take a 1-0 lead. After a pop out and a strikeout, Esteury Ruiz blooped a two-RBI single to right field to give the TinCaps a 3-0 advantage. In the fourth, Ruiz worked an 11-pitch at-bat that concluded with an RBI double, lengthening the Fort Wayne lead to 4-0.

The Cougars lone run came in the bottom of the seventh. After a lead off double from Jasrado Chisholm, Eduardo Diaz grounded out. Eudy Ramos flew out to center, but Chisholm tagged and advanced to third. With two outs, Yoel Yanqui hit a ground ball to third. TinCaps' third baseman Luis Almanzar committed an error, allowing the Cougars to inch closer, 4-1.

In the ninth, Gabriel Maciel and Jasrado Chisholm earned back-to-back walks to start the frame. With one out, Eudy Ramo flared a single to rightfield, cutting the deficit to 4-2. The next batter, Yoel Yanqui, doubled down the left field line to tie the game, 4-4.

Jack Suwinski gave the TinCaps the lead in the the eleventh with an RBI single. Joey Rose leveled the game with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eleventh. In the bottom of the 12th, Tim Susnar bunted the potential winning run to third. After Luis Basabe was intentionally walked, Gabriel Maciel recorded the walk-off infield single.

Cougar starter Mack Lemieux took no decision. The lefty lasted five innings, allowed four runs (one earned) on five hits, walking four and striking out four. Abraham Almonte provided two innings of scoreless relief, striking out four batters. Breckin Williams also gave the Cougars two innings of shutout ball out of the bullpen. Jordan Watson allowed one run in two innings out of the pen. Cole Bartlett (1-0) earned the win, tossing a scoreless 12th inning.

Fort Wayne starter Aaron Leasher took no decision. Leasher tossed seven innings of one-run ball (none earned), scattering four hits, striking out three and walking one. Caleb Boushley finished the eighth inning unscathed, despite allowing a one-out single. Jordan Geurrero blew his third save of the year, allowing all three ninth inning runs. Evan Miller (1-1) allowed the game-winning run in the 12th.
