Arkansas Travelers News Release
Little Rock, AR - The Arkansas Travelers announced Thursday that the game on Sunday, June 28 vs. the Springfield Cardinals at Dickey-Stephens Park will be televised across the country on American Sports Network (ASN) as a part of the "Minor League Baseball Sunday Showcase." The game will be carried locally on Retro-TV (KATV2). The Travelers also announced they have added the following promotions on June 28:
- Postgame fireworks extravaganza
- Bobblehead giveaway to the first 750 fans in the gate
- 50% off EVERYTHING in the team store during the game
"We are extremely excited and proud to be a part of the Sunday Showcase," said Arkansas Travelers General Manager Paul Allen. "We have no doubt that baseball fans of Central Arkansas will show up and represent the community well."
The games' on-air talent includes current ASN broadcasters Dave Armstrong and Keith Moreland. Moreland, a 12-year MLB veteran who played for the Phillies, Cubs and Padres, will serve as the color analyst.
American Sports Network (ASN) is the sports department of the U.S. television station owner Sinclair Broadcast Group. Formed in July 2014, ASN produces broadcasts of sporting events that are aired primarily across stations owned by Sinclair (in particular, CW and MyNetworkTV stations owned and/or operated by the company, or, in some markets, on a digital subchannel of a Sinclair station), and syndicated to non-Sinclair stations and regional sports networks.
The game on Sunday, June 28, is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. Every Sunday is Operation: Military Appreciation at Dickey-Stephens Park where a Military ID gets you $3 off your ticket while the Travelers dawn their custom camouflage jerseys. Tickets are available online at www.travs.com, by calling (501) 664-1559 or by stopping by the Dickey-Stephens Park box office.
