CORPUS CHRISTI - Arkansas struck for four in the seventh to take down Corpus Christi 4-2 Friday night at Whataburger Field before 5,871.

The Hooks suffered consecutive losses for the first time since May 3.

The Travelers (30-23) started their four-run, four-hit game-winning inning against a tiring Josh Hader (1-3), but the scoring blows came off Aaron West. Hader allowed consecutive singles to Brian Hernandez and Raywilly Gomez, and made an errant throw to third in an attempt to get Hernandez as Kentrail Davis reached via fielder's choice. West entered for D'Arby Myers, who singled in two. Myers and Drew Maggi were sent home by Sherman Johnson's double into the right-field corner.

Albert Suarez (6-3) and Hader threw zeroes at each other for three frames before Corpus Christi (35-18) used charity and power to plate two. Andrew Aplin drew a one-out walk and scored from first when Colin Moran drove a double to left-center field. Moran took third on Conrad Gregor's bounce out and crossed with two outs when Hernandez dropped a feed from Suarez, who'd picked up Danry Vasquez's roller up the first-base line.

Suarez scattered three hits over six innings, walked three and struck out three. Eduard Santos struck out two in a perfect seventh while bridging to Chris O'Grady, who earned a two-inning save. The big left-hander logged three strikeouts while going six-up, six down.

Corpus Christi turned three double plays. Hooks second baseman Tony Kemp has a 10-game hitting streak. Shortstop Jio Mier had his hitting streak snapped at 12.

Brian Holmes (1-1) pitches for Corpus Christi Saturday at 7:05 against Michael Brady (0-2). The first 2,500 fans receive a Hunter Pence Bobblehead from Wigington, Rumley, Dunn & Blair.
