Toronto Argonauts News Release

Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts are pleased to announce that they have selected DL Marc Pilon from the Ottawa Renegades' roster in the 2006 CFL Dispersal Draft. Pilon was selected by Toronto in the second round (10th overall).

Toronto acquired the 10th overall pick in a trade with new division rivals Winnipeg Blue Bombers during the draft. The Argos sent their 5th overall pick in the 2006 Dispersal Draft (OL Val St. Germain) in exchange for Winnipeg's second round selection in the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft.

Remarked Marc Pilon, "I'm honoured. This is exactly where I wanted to go. I think this is the best fit for me, it is in the East and all I've ever heard is good things about Adam Rita, Michael Clemons, Rich Stubler and the whole football operations staff. I am so excited to play with an organization that is run well and does the right things. This has made my day."

Pilon is a seven-year CFL veteran who attended Syracuse University. He originally joined the CFL in 1999 when he was selected by the Calgary Stampeders with the fourth overall pick in the CFL Canadian Draft. He spent his first three seasons in Calgary before joining Edmonton as a free agent in 2002. He stayed with Edmonton for one season, primarily on the injured list with a knee injury. Pilon joined the BC Lions in 2003 playing in 35 games and returned to his hometown, Ottawa, on February 18, 2005 as a free agent.
