Annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration This Saturday
Published on March 15, 2011 under American Hockey League (AHL)
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
The arena will be sham-rocking this weekend, as the Penguins host their annual St. Patrick's Day celebration when they face the Worcester Sharks on Saturday night at 7:05pm.
The team will be wearing special St. Patrick's themed sweaters (pictured at the right), which will be auctioned off during the evening via a silent auction behind section 108.
Fans will also be able to get their hands on special Pot O' Gold Pucks during the game. More than 900 special green pucks have been signed by Penguins players and wrapped up in holiday bags, so fans won't know whose autograph they are receiving until they open up their pucks. If your puck is signed on the back in silver, you will also take home a game-used stick from the player on your puck. Pucks cost just $10 apiece.
There will also be great holiday-themed entertainment during the night provided by the Wyoming Valley Pipe and Drum Band and the Gallagher School of Irish Dance.
Plus, the first 5,000 fans through the doors will take home a Tux Wobbler Doll, sponsored by the Times Tribune and the Citizens Voice.
Seats are going fast for Saturday's game. Get yours online at ticketmaster.com, call 800-745-3000, or stop by the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office.
