ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the AHL's Norfolk Admirals, have reassigned left wing Max Friberg ("FREE-buhrg") to the Admirals.

Friberg, 5-foot-10, 197 pounds, appeared in 55 games with Timra of the Swedish Elite League this season, posting eight goals and 16 points with 12 penalty minutes. The 20-year-old native of Skovde, Sweden, has appeared in 103 career games in Sweden's top professional hockey league with Timra, posting 13 goals and 26 points.

The Anaheim Ducks drafted Friberg in the fifth round (143rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, and signed him to a three-year, entry-level contract on June 15, 2012.

Friberg has represented Sweden on the international stage. In 2012, Friberg helped Sweden to a gold medal at the IIHF World Junior Championships by posting a tournament-best nine goals. He was named to the tournament all-star team, becoming the first Anaheim draft pick to do so since Paul Kariya (1993).
