
Amerks Sign Defenseman Michael Wilson to Pro Tryout

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed defenseman Michael Wilson of the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) to a professional tryout.
Wilson, 25, appeared in 57 games for Orlando this season, recording 34 points (7+27) and 53 penalty minutes to lead his team in scoring among defensemen and rank tied for ninth in scoring among all ECHL blueliners. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Wilson also appeared in 10 American Hockey League games this season with the Worcester Sharks and registered one assist.
In 95 career AHL games with Worcester, Wilson has registered 21 points (6+15) and 66 penalty minutes while also appearing in eight Calder Cup Playoff contests. The native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, has played in 146 ECHL games with Orlando, Victoria and Phoenix, collecting 68 points (12+56) and 113 penalty minutes. Prior to his professional career, Wilson played three seasons with Swift Current of the Western Hockey Lague.
