Andrew Macwilliam Signed to ATO

The Toronto Marlies announced Tuesday the team has signed defenceman Andrew MacWilliam to an Amateur Try Out (ATO) contract. MacWilliam will join the team on their upcoming road trip to Abbotsford.

MacWilliam, 23, joins the Marlies after posting 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) and 116 penalty minutes in 41 games at the University of North Dakota (WCHA) this past season. The 6-2, 226-pound Calgary, AB native was a 7th round draft pick (188 overall) of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The Marlies return to the ice on Friday, April 12 when they travel to British Columbia for a 10 p.m. (ET) game against the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. Toronto returns home on Tuesday, April 16 for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Oklahoma City Barons, AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers.
