World Record Attempt this Sunday

Adirondack Phantoms News Release

The Adirondack Phantoms want to break a legitimate world record. And with the help of their fans, they're going to attempt to do exactly that this Sunday with one of the wackiest world records they could find. The record for World's Longest On-Ice Conga-Line On Skates is going down!

Fans are encouraged to bring their skates and then join us post-game to cha-cha-cha their way into history in the world record attempt. Yes, there really is an actual record for this. And after this Sunday's 3:00 game against the Binghamton Senators, it will be time for the fans to Do The Conga!

"People are noticing that we're trying to do things a little bit off the wall and this is one of those situations," said Chris Porreca, Executive Vice President of the Adirondack Phantoms. "259 is the world record for people on the ice with skates doing the conga. Hopefully we can do it. I think it'll be fun just participating in it. It's already making me smile and giggle just a little bit as I can just imagine that many people out there doing the conga-line."

All participants in the World Record Attempt will receive a free ticket to the Phantoms game on Friday, April 19. So come down to the ice after the game with your fellow Phantoms fans and join us for all the fun.

The current world record for this rather unusual category involved 259 participants and was achieved by Phillips Exeter Academy at the Phillips Exeter Academy Ice Arena in Exeter, New Hampshire on February 27, 2011. We think we can take it!

This idea is all part of the team's all-time wackiest promotional schedule ever that has brought you Orange Tuxedo Jerseys, Mustache Jerseys, Recliner Races, Limousine-Delivered Mascots, and Dan Miner Bobbleheads.

"There will be some people who are good skaters and there will be some people who aren't good skaters," Porreca said. "So if you're a good skater we'll need you to help those who aren't so that we can attempt to break this record and do the conga!"

Call the Phantoms at 518-480-3355 to purchase your tickets for this Sunday's game and World Record Attempt. Sunday Family 3-Packs are also available; 3 tickets, 3 hots dogs, 3 sodas, 1 large popcorn and 1 program all for only $43. You save over 40%.
