
Americans skate away with game, beat Killer Bees 4-1

ALLEN, Texas - The Americans, along with Elvis and Michael Jackson, brought down the house with their 4-1 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees tonight at the Allen Event Center in front of 4,760 fans. The game brings Allen's record to 31-10-3 (65 points), which is second in the league.
Defenseman Tyler Wooddisse put away the first goal of the game off of a slap shot midway through the opening frame. Americans goalie Chris Whitley made 10 saves in the period to keep the Bees off the board. Allen has held Rio Grande Valley scoreless in the first period in all three contests this year.
The Americans began the second period with a 1-0 lead and a two-minute 5-on-3 advantage. The club ran away with the game, scoring three goals in the span of 1:19. Nino Musitelli slapped a rebound into the net, Bruce Graham tipped Ryan Fairbarn's shot past Rio Grande Valley netminder Andy Franck and Colton Yellow Horn stuffed a rebound into the cage before the three-minute mark of the frame.
The Killer Bees managed to score their lone goal of the game with a little over six minutes left in the period. Sean Muncy's shot a wrister from the left circle.
The teams stayed off the scoreboard in the third, with Whitley and Franck making eight and seven stops, respectively.
Graham was named first star of the game for the second night in a row, earning three points and going +1. Musitelli scored two points in the victory and was given second star honors. Whitley was named third star with 26 saves tonight.
Allen has beat Rio Grande Valley in all three meetings this season.
Earlier today, Head Coach and General Manager Dwight Mullins signed forward Matt Radoslovich (ruh-DA-slow-vich). The 26-year-old played with the Trenton Devils of the ECHL last year and spent eight games with Tulsa this season.
The Americans play three games in three nights next week beginning with a Thursday home contest against Tulsa Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Time Warner Cable will be broadcasting the game live on Metro Sports Channel 185. The clubs then travel to Amarillo and Texas Friday and Saturday, respectively, for 7:05 p.m. start times.
