
Ramsay's Miracle Night Highlights 9-4 Win over Eagles

(Odessa, TX) - Mike Ramsay's first period hat trick kickstarted a nine-goal goal outburst by the Odessa Jackalopes, who defeated the Colorado Eagles on Saturday night at the Ector County Coliseum by a 9-4 final. The win improves Odessa's record to 36-7-4 on the year. It was the Jackalopes first win over the Eagles since February 28, 2008.
Six total goals were scored in the first period as Colorado opened the scoring with goals from Aaron Schneekloth at 8:15 and Steve Haddon at 11:21 on the power play to make it 2-0, Eagles. Mike Ramsay then single-handedly took over the game scoring three goals in a 4:10 span for a natural hat trick and his second three-goal game of the season. Jean Bourbeau also added a tally at 17:38 on a two-on-one with James Sanford to cap the period's scoring and give Odessa a 4-2 lead.
The offense continued for Odessa in period two as Collin Circelli made it a 5-2 Odessa lead with a goal at 1:41, while falling down in front of the net for his 23rd of the season. The Eagles pulled back to within two on Schneekloth's second goal of the game at 14:25. Odessa responded just 23 seconds later with a goal from Kenny Bernard deflecting Dave Van Drunen's shot from the point. Jean Bourbeau then recorded a shorthanded goal from Kory Karlander for his second of the game at 118:58 making the score 7-3, Odessa, entering the intermission.
Odessa continued the onslaught with two more goals in the third period. Circelli netted his second of the game at12:10. Phil Plante added a power play goal at 16:48. The Eagles added a goal as well for the 9-4 score.
Bourbeau's shorthanded goal was his fourth of season, tying him for second in the league. Mike Ramsay now has 12 goals in the last six games for the Jackalopes.
The Jackalopes being a five-game road trip on Friday in Rapid City when they face the Rush at 8:05 PM Central time. Friday's game will be the first ever meeting between the two clubs. The contest will be carried live on 102.1 Jack FM.
The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
