PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - Skating in their seventh consecutive one-goal game, the Arizona Sundogs once again found themselves on the wrong end of a tight contest, falling 3-2 to the Rapid City Rush in their 17th one-goal loss of the season.

Marc Belanger extended his scoring streak to 10 games with his 17th point in that span, knotting the game at two with five minutes to play in the middle frame with his 16th goal of the season.

Collecting a neutral zone pass from forward-turned-defenseman Rob Lehtinen, Belanger gained the low circle before sniping a wrist shot high glove side past Miguel Beaudry at 14:59 of the second.

The two teams netted all five goals in a back-and-forth second period that saw Arizona pull even twice before a Scott Wray effort beat Kyle McNulty low stick side 34 seconds after Belanger tied the game at two.

Les Reaney opened scoring 3:46 into the second on a redirect at the top of the crease two seconds after a Rush power play expired.

Linus Fagemo collected his 16th of the year at the 8:11 mark, one-timing a Kevin Gardner centering feed past Beaudry with his club on one of its 13 power-play opportunities.

Colt King made it 2-1 in favor of Rapid City a minute later, converting on a penalty shot chance after being pulled down on a breakaway by rookie defenseman Nick Biondo.

McNulty correctly anticipated King's backhand-forehand move but was unable to keep the puck from crossing the goal line with his outstretched leg pad as the puck slipped underneath.

Arizona struggled with the man-advantage, finishing 1-for-13 against the league's top-rated penalty kill, including two lengthy 5-on-3 advantages.

Belanger nearly tied the game at three with his second of the game with just over eight minutes to play in the contest, avoiding a Rush defender along the near boards before wringing a shot off the cross bar while on a late two-man advantage.

Rapid City had a first-period goal overturned with 1.1 seconds showing on the clock as referee John MacIsaac ruled it was kicked in after discussing the play with linesmen Michael Sarter and Bill McGoldrick.

Shots were 30-27 in favor of Rapid City in the contest. McNulty finished with 27 saves while Beaudry earned his second straight decision with 25 stops.

Arizona (15-26-5) opens a three-in-three road trip on Friday, Feb. 12 at 7:05pm (Arizona time) against the Colorado Eagles at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado.
