Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans added blue line help today adding Randy Cure and the rights to forward Alex Lavoie from the Indy Fuel in exchange for forward Alex Guptill.

Randy Cure has been playing professional hockey since 2014. He began his pro career with Elmira, as well as stops in Evansville, Fort Wayne, Tulsa and Indy. He played in 18 games with the Fuel this season and had three assists.

The native of Bloomington, Minnesota, stands 6-5 and weighs in at 205 pounds. He played his college hockey at Mercyhurst, along with four seasons of junior hockey in both the North American Hockey League and United States Hockey League.

The Americans also acquired the rights to forward Alex Lavoie from Indy. Lavoie played with the Americans during the 2013-2014 season and led the team in scoring with 76 points (25 goals & 51 assists). He is playing in Sweden this year with Bofors IK where he has 27 points in 26 games.

Alex Guptill heads to Indy after playing in ten games with Allen. Guptill was traded from Manchester to Allen in November for defenseman Rick Pinkston.
