Indianapolis Indians News Release
INDIANAPOLIS -- Dariel Alvarez doubled, drove in a run and scored four times to lead the Norfolk Tides over the Indianapolis Indians, 9-5, Monday night at Victory Field.
Alvarez reached base and scored in each of his first four trips to the plate, singling in the first and fifth innings, wearing a pitch from Chris Volstad in the third and drawing a walk in the seventh.
Indianapolis originally trailed just 6-3 after the sixth frame. The Tribe should have escaped the seventh with the same deficit, but a booted a ball at third base and wild throw on a bunt back to the pitcher's mound extended what turned into a three-run inning.
Dan Gamache led the Indians' offense with a three-hit night, two runs and two RBIs. Josh Bell finished 2-for-5 and is hitting .419 over his last 12 games.
