MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game road trip with an 8-3 loss to the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field on Friday night.

The Memphis bats struggled until two outs in the ninth inning when left fielder Alfonso Rivas doubled home his first three RBIs of the season to end the shutout bid. In total, the Redbirds recorded six hits, two from third baseman Cesar Prieto. Prieto currently leads the team in both batting average (.450) and base hits (9). The left-handed hitter now sits tied-third in the International League in batting average.

Starting pitcher Michael McGreevy (0-1) allowed five runs on eight hits, walked two and struck out two in his 4.0-inning start. Kyle Leahy and Chris Roycroft were two bright spots in relief as each tossed a scoreless inning. Both Leahy and Roycroft each continued their scoreless season.

The Memphis Redbirds return to AutoZone Park on Tuesday, April 9 to begin a six-game series against the Nashville Sounds (Triple-A, Milwaukee Brewers) with first pitch scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CDT.
