
Aldous Inks AHL Deal With The Monarchs

Manchester, NH - The Manchester Monarchs (AHL) announced on Tuesday that defenseman Chris Aldous has signed an American Hockey League contract. Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough made the announcement.
"He's done everything we've asked of him and he's earned the American Hockey League contract," said McDonough. "He's dependable and he fits in well with our system." Aldous, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound blueliner from Massena, NY, signed a 25-game tryout agreement with the Monarchs following a productive Monarchs training camp. In 17 games with the Monarchs this season, he has one goal, five assists, six points, four penalty minutes and a plus-2 plus/minus rating.
Aldous, 27, spent parts of the 2001-02 season with the Monarchs, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) and the Reading Royals (ECHL). In 34 games with the Monarchs, he registered four assists and 14 penalty minutes. In 40 games with the Royals, he notched 10 goals, five assists, 15 points and 24 penalty minutes. Aldous also had four penalty minutes in three games with the Sound Tigers, Aldous was a 10th round selection (252nd overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Including the 2002-03 season, he has two goals, 10 assists and 12 points in 68 career AHL games.
Monarchs Add Strength And Conditioning Coach To Staff Kadar will implement the same conditioning program used by the LA. Kings
Manchester, NH - The Manchester Monarchs (AHL), the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings (NHL), announced on Tuesday the hiring of Mike Kadar as the Strength and Conditioning Coach. Monarchs General Manager/Kings Vice President and Assistant General Manager Kevin Gilmore made the announcement.
"Strength and conditioning is an important part of player development," said Gilmore. "Mike is a highly qualified coach who will give us continuity in our conditioning program from Manchester to L.A."
Kadar most recently worked with Red Deer College in Red Deer, Alberta, as both an Assistant Coach and a Strength and Conditioning Coach. He has a physical education degree from the University of Lethbridge, and a diploma in message therapy from Rocky Mountain Academy in Calgary, Alberta. Kadar was hired as the Dynamic Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Red Deer College Kings hockey team after receiving his Strength and Conditioning Certification in July of 2001. This past September, he served an apprenticeship with the L.A. Kings during their 2002 training camp. Kadar also apprenticed with the Kings during their 2001 training camp. Kadar plans to join the Monarchs in Winnipeg, Manitoba this week. The first place Monarchs (15-5-3-2, 35 points, North Division) return to action Wednesday when they meet the Manitoba Moose in Winnipeg, Manitoba for the first time ever. Wednesday's game is scheduled for an 8:35 p.m. start time.
