Rivermen Hit the Road Once Again

This week the Peoria Rivermen plan to put more miles on their already well-used team bus. Tomorrow, the team sets out on a four-games-in-five-nights road trip.

First stop, Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Peoria will play two games in Johnstown on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th. So far this season, the Rivermen have faired very well against the Chiefs registering a 3-0-1 record in four games. Back on November 22nd and 23rd the Rivermen beat the Chiefs 4-3 and 6-3 respectively. Rivermen center Tyler Rennette scored the game winner in both games, while goaltender Duane Derksen picked up both wins in net. Peoria has averaged 3.25 goals scored in four games versus their Northwest Division rival. Former Rivermen J.F. Boutin leads the Chiefs in scoring with 7 goals and 16 assists.

On Sunday December 15th the Rivermen travel across the state of Pennsylvania to battle the Reading Royals. This will be the first of two meeting between the two teams this season. The Royals will visit the Peoria Civic Center on December 28th. Currently, Reading sits in fourth place in the Northeast Division with a 13-14-1 record. Center Brian McCullough leads his team with 17 goals and 21 assists.

Before returning home, Peoria visits the Titans of Trenton, New Jersey on December 17th. This will also be the first of two games between two Northern Conference teams. Trenton is presently in sixth place in their division with a 10-11-2 record.
