Aeros Blanked By Curve, 2-0: The Akron Aeros dropped game one of a four-game series to the Altoona Curve 2-0 last night at Blair County Ballpark. Despite pitching well, Austin Adams suff ered the loss, going six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on nine hits and striking out seven while walking none. Mike Colla got the win for Altoona tossing six scoreless innings, scattering three hits, walking two and striking out four. Noah Krol pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning to earn the save.

Tonight's Pitching Matchups: Left-handed pitcher T.J. McFarland will get the start for the Aeros in game one. McFarland is 1-1 with a 5.64 ERA this season. He will face right-hander Aaron Pribanic, who is 3-1 with a 2.48 ERA in 2011. The Aeros will give the ball to right-handed pitcher Paolo Espino in game two. Espino is 0-0 with a 2.67 ERA this season. He will face fellow righty Bryan Morris, who is 1-1 with a 4.11 ERA on the year.

Let's Play Two: The Aeros and Curve will play a doubleheader tonight. Both games will be seven-inning contests. Akron is 3-5 in doubleheaders this season. Following tonight's double dip, the Aeros will have played more doubleheader games (10) than they played all of last season. Akron played eight doubleheader games in 2010 going 1-7.

Fedroff Extends Streak: Tim Fedroff went 1-2 with two walks to extend his hitting streak to 13 games, which is a 2011 team-high. Fedroff 's hitting streak is tied for the third longest in the Eastern League in 2011. Fedroff is 25-51 (.490) with a triple, fi ve doubles, 12 RBI and seven runs scored during the 13-game streak. He leads the Eastern League in batting (.426) during the month of May. During the recent homestand, Fedroff was 8-12 (.666), with two doubles, a triple, four RBI and four runs scored.

Top Hitter: Fedroff also leads the Eastern League in batting in 2011 hitting at a .366 clip. He is also fi fth in league in On-Base Percentage (.414)

Hagadone Promoted To Columbus: Left-handed pitcher Nick Hagadone was promoted to Triple-A Columbus Friday. Southpaw Eric Berger was received from Columbus to take his roster spot. Hagadone was 2-1 with a 1.59 ERA as a member of the Aeros striking out 24 batters in 22.2 innings while walking just seven. Hagadone also led the Eastern League in holds with seven.

Price Activated: Righty Bryan Price was activated from the disabled list Friday. Price has been on the DL since April 27 and has not pitched since April 26 in game one of a doubleheader against Binghamton. To make room for him on the roster, righty Marty Popham was transfered to Single-A Mahoning Valley.

On The Road Trip: The Aeros began a four-game road trip against Altoona with a loss last night. Akron is 10-11 away from Canal Park this season.

Recent Homestand: The Aeros began a brief three-game homestand against Altoona with a win Wednesday. Akron split the doubleheader Thursday to complete the homestand. The Aeros were 2-1 on the recent homestand.
