LOOKING AHEAD:
Abbotsford brings a three-game winning streak east for games in Providence on Friday and Sunday, and at Adirondack on Saturday... The Heat are coming off back-to-back 3-2 shootout wins over Houston this week; both nights, Abbotsford rallied from 2-0 down in regulation... A trio of rookies is tied for the Heat scoring lead - former first-round draft pick Greg Nemisz (5-5-10), Carter Bancks (3-7-10), and Gaelan Patterson (3-7-10)... Nemisz shows a point in five of his last six contests (2-4-6)... Heat goaltender Leland Irving is tied for the AHL lead with eight victories (8-3-0, 2.36, .908) and ranks fourth with 687 minutes played... Providence is also riding a three-game winning streak to move back to the .500 mark overall (5-5-1-1)... Rookie Joe Colborne, a first-round draft pick by Boston in 2008, has a point in four straight games (5-1-6), and second-year pro Jamie Arniel is on a three-game goal-scoring run (3-2-5)... The Bruins are just 1-4-0-1 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center but show a 4-1-1-0 mark on the road... Providence won three of four from Abbotsford last year, two in a shootout.
Worcester visits Manchester on Friday for the first time since bowing out of last spring's playoffs there with a Game 6 loss in the Atlantic Division Finals... The Sharks are on a four-game points streak (3-0-0-1), including a 3-2 home-ice win over the Monarchs on Nov. 6... After managing just one assist in his first eight games, 2010 AHL All-Star defenseman Sean Sullivan shows four points (2-2-4) in his last three games for Worcester... Sharks leading scorer Jonathan Cheechoo (5-8-13) has a goal in each of his last two outings (2-1-3), and second-year forward Brandon Mashinter boasts five points (2-3-5) in his past three contests... Manchester is an impressive 4-1-1-0 at home thus far... Andrei Loktionov has racked up four points (1-3-4) in three games since being reassigned by parent-club Los Angeles... Monarchs forward Brandon Kozun is among the AHL's rookie leaders with 10 points (5-5-10) in 12 games, also good for a share of the club scoring lead with three other players... Worcester boasts the AHL's top-ranked power play (27.8 percent - tied), and penalty kill (91.2 percent).
After each team enjoys Friday off, division rivals Houston and Peoria do battle on Saturday and Sunday at Carver Arena... The Aeros, who dropped a pair of home-ice tilts to the Rivermen in October, are currently riding a six-game points streak (4-0-0-2) and sit two points back of Peoria in the West Division standings... Robbie Earl paces Houston with nine points (4-5-9) and is coming off his first multi-point game of the year (1-1-2) on Tuesday in Abbotsford... Rookie defenseman Jarod Palmer shows four points (2-2-4) in his last three games for Houston, and goaltender Anton Khudobin is 4-0-1 (1.74, .946) since starting the season with three straight losses... The Rivermen are just 1-4-0-1 since beginning the year 7-1-0-0... Graham Mink leads Peoria with 13 points overall (4-9-13) but has just one assist in his last seven outings... T.J. Hensick scored twice at Houston on Oct. 16 and shows three points (2-1-3) in his last three games overall... Peoria goaltenders Ben Bishop and Jake Allen are each 1-0-0-0 against Houston this year; Bishop collected a 36-save shutout in a 1-0 win on Oct. 22.
