Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Aeros made a roster move today as RHP Zach Putnam was placed on the disabled list retroactive to May 29th and LHP Nick Hagadone was received from Class-A Kinston.

Putnam, Cleveland's fifth-round selection in the June 2008 Draft out of the University of Michigan, is 2-1 with a 4.02 ERA on the season for Akron. He ranks second on the team with 40.1 innings pitched in 11 games (7 starts) and has walked just seven batters against 27 strikeouts. He has not appeared in a game since May 26th against Altoona and he is sidelined with right rhomboid tightness.

Hagadone was promoted to Akron today as reported over the weekend by the Cleveland Indians organization. In 10 starts so far this season with Class-A Kinston, he held a 1-3 record with a 2.39 ERA. The Indians acquired him in the Victor Martinez trade with the Boston Red Sox in July 2009 and he was a supplement first-round draft pick out of the University of Washington.

Hagadone will be starting tonight for the Aeros the opener of a three-game series at Canal Park against the Erie SeaWolves. He will be wearing #58.
