Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI-The Milwaukee Admirals jumped out to an early two-goal lead against the Houston Aeros on Sunday, but the Aeros came back the with five unanswered goals to take a 5-2 win and push their lead in the AHL's West Division to points over the Admirals.

For the second night in a row the Admirals controlled play during the first period. Unlike Saturday night, Milwaukee was able to convert on some of their opportunities during the first 20 minutes of play.

Chris Durno put the Ads on the board first when he beat former Admirals Seamus Kotyk with a slick wrist shot to the stick side on assists from Rich Peverley and Nathan Lutz. Kevin Klein made it 2-0 in favor of the Admirals found the back of the net at the 11:53 mark on an assist from Darren Haydar.

Peter Olvecky drew Houston within a goal at 2-1when he scored a power-play tally with just 1:29 left in the period. Rem Murray and Eric Reitz assisted on the play.

In the second period the Admirals had the advantage early, thanks in part to a double-minor on Patrick O'Sullivan for slashing and unsportsmanlike conduct. However the Ads weren't able to take advantage of the power play and Houston would make them pay, scoring three times in a 4:43 span, including a short-handed goal by Rem Murray at the 18:58 mark of the period.

Kirby Law notched Houston's fifth goal at 10:56 of the third period as Houston won for the sixth straight time and third consecutive over Milwaukee.

The Admirals next home game will be this Wednesday, March 1st when they take on the Iowa Stars at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center. For tickets fans can call Ticketmaster at (414) 276-4545 or log on to www.ticketmaster.com.
