RECENTLY...The Aeros continue to gain ground on first place Altoona, taking the first two games of this three game series...Akron is now just 1.5 games out of first place in the Southern Division...The Aeros wrap-up a seven game home stand tonight and head to Erie for the weekend.

START ME UP...Since moving into the leadoff spot on May 19 , RF BRAD SNYDER is batting .317 (19-60) in 13 games with 12 R, 4 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 8 RBI & 2 SB and has reached base safely In all 13 games...He also currently has a 11-game hitting streak, over which he is batting .333 (18-54).

STREAKING...Over his last 11 games, 3B KEVIN KOUZMANOFF is batting .465 (20-43) with 13 R, 5 2B, 4 HR & 19 RBI.

WHAT A MONTH...3B KEVIN KOUZMANOFF should be a Player of the Month finalist for the month of May...In 23 games, he hit .440 (37-84) with 20 R, 8 2B, 6 HR, 26 RBI with a slugging % of .750 and an on-base % of .468.

WOW 2! 3B KEVIN KOUZMANOFF leads ALL of Minor League Baseball with a .420 batting average.

LEAGUE LEADERS: 3B KEVIN KOUZMANOFF leads the Eastern League in batting average (.422), hits (60), on-base % (.459) and slugging % (.650)...OF JON VAN EVERY is tied for third in RBI (32), is third in extra-base hits (25) and third in slugging % (.547)...2B EIDER TORRES is second in SB (18).

STREAK ENDED...RHP SEAN SMITH's consecutive scoreless inning streak came to an end last night at 25.1 innings...He did, however, notch his fifth win of the year by downing the Curve (5-0, 1.57 ERA).

RECENT ROSTER MOVE: On Saturday, the Akron Aeros placed 1B MICHAEL AUBREY on the Disabled List with a right knee strain and received OF RYAN GOELSKI from Class A Kinston...At Kinston, Goleski was leading the Carolina League in many offensive categories, including: batting average (.331), HR (10), RBI (43), slugging % (.636) and on-base % (.441) and is the reigning C.L. Player of the Week.

IN MAY...The Aeros finished the month of May with a 17-11 record and batted .285 as a team (268-942)...That was the highest team batting average in the Eastern League during the month...In April, the Aeros hit .266 (221-831) as a team...The team ERA of 3.16 was third-lowest in the E.L. during May.
