Aeros Add RHP Mason Radeke

AKRON, OH - The Cleveland Indians announced Sunday that righthander Mason Radeke has been promoted to the Akron Aeros from the Lake County Captains.

Radeke, 21, was 1-1, 2.77 in six appearances out of the bullpen for the Captains so far this season. He struck out 15 hitters in 13 innings prior to his call-up. A second-year pro, Radeke began his professional career last season at Mahoning Valley, going 2-0, 4.53, in nine starts.

Radeke was drafted by the Indians in the 35th round last summer. He played college baseball at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo. As a junior for the Mustangs, he was 8-4, 3.07, and ranked second in the Big West Conference in strikeouts with 95.

This is Radeke's first appearance at the AA level.

The Aeros roster now stands at 25 players.

The Aeros will continue the current homestand as they welcome in the Binghamton Mets on Monday evening at 7:05. It will start a four-game series, running through Thursday at Canal Park.
