Admirals Pick Up Three of Four Possible Points on Road

NORFOLK, VA - The Admirals picked up three of a possible four points in two road contests this past weekend. Despite 48 saves by Corey Crawford, the Admirals fell 2-1 to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins after Tyler Spurgeon's goal with just 21 seconds remaining in overtime on Friday night at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. Troy Brouwer and Carl Corazzini had two goals each as the Admirals defeated the Binghamton Senators 4-2 on Saturday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Admirals face off against the Philadelphia Phantoms at Scope on Wednesday night and again at the Wachovia Spectrum on Friday night. They then travel to Albany on Saturday night to battle the River Rats.

TEAM NOTEBOOK

- Norfolk concludes it's regular season schedule with nine contests against East Division opponents. Three are home games and six are on the road. The Admirals are 21-2-1-0 against division foes at Scope but are just 8-10-3-0 away from Norfolk against the division.

- Norfolk (46-18-6-1, 99 points) will look to reach a triple-digit point total for the first time in franchise history on Wednesday at Scope versus Philadelphia.

- The Admirals play the Phantoms twice this week - once at Scope and once at the Wachovia Spectrum. Norfolk is 4-0-0-0 against Philadelphia at home this season and have points in all seven games played against the Phantoms this season (6-0-1-0). Martin St. Pierre has 13 points (2g, 11a) in six games against the Phantoms in 2006-07.

- Corey Crawford set a Norfolk franchise record by appearing in his 53rd game of the season on Friday in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The former record was held by Michael Leighton, who had 52 appearances in 2001-02.

Norfolk's special teams have rebounded from subpar levels over the past three games, as the power play is 5-16 (31.3%) and penalty kill is 17-19 (89.5%) in that span. Pierre Parenteau is on a nine-game scoring streak (4g, 10a since March 3 @ Worcester) and a seven-game assist streak (9a since March 7 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton). Martin St. Pierre is on a four-game scoring streak (1g, 4a since March 16 vs. Binghamton). Dustin Byfuglien is on a three-game scoring and assist streak (0g, 3a since March 17 vs. Bridgeport). - Troy Brouwer's ten-game scoring streak (11g, 6a) and Kris Versteeg's eight-game scoring streak (1g, 8a) ended on Friday at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

- Center Jake Dowell made his professional debut on Friday at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while winger Jack Skille and defenseman Ben Lovejoy made their professional debuts on Saturday at Binghamton.
